This is a page containing a lot of history of the Van Vacter/Van Vactor/Van Vechten family.
Right now it mostly contains scans of the pages of the book Oren David Van Vacter, A Family Book of Records, compiled by William A. Van Vacter.
Another Update (June 8, 2007): I ran an OCR tool on the PDF, which did an OK job of recongizing the text. If you download the PDF now you can use text search to help find names in the file.
Update: I created a file you can download that contains the entire book (well, missing are the first name index and the address list). You will need the Adobe Acrobat reader to read it, and the file is rather large (5 megs). With this file you can read the book while you are offline, or you can print all 232 pages rather easily.
